Story
MY DREAM.
Career in Sports.
I was just a kid when I knew sports was my calling. Learned to swim before I could walk — and competitive swimmer by six. I inherited my Mom’s athleticism — thankfully.
Played volleyball and field hockey in high school and field hockey and soccer in college. Stayed in shape racing triathlons with my Dad during summers. My life revolved around sports — I was either training, racing or watching sports.
Studied Radio/TV/Film in college and made my move to Hollywood after graduation to intern as a sports reporter and court-side commentator under Chick Hearn, the legendary voice of the Lakers. I also handled camera at football games, edited sports highlights for FOX News and production at the big studios. What a DREAM. What a RIDE.
After my stint in Hollywood, I moved to Orange County to expand my career. I worked my way up in the ranks to became VP Management Supervisor for the Healthcare division of one of the most prestigious ad agencies — Foote, Cone & Belding, overseeing brand development, video, print and digital programs. Key clients included Allergen, Toshiba Medical and WebMD.
In 2006, I jumped into uncharted waters to launch my own marketing shop, Barrad Communications, with my focus in the active lifestyle space. This is where my passion for creating marketing, advertising and community outreach programs were born.
As a marketer and athlete, I blend my knowledge of the active and fitness-minded market to create progressive strategies that build sustainable relationships between brands and the community.
In 2016, I knew it was time to be a catalyst for my own brand and shift my identity to align closely with the active community roots I have passionately developed.
